NAMLO was founded in 1999 when Spanish climber Magda decided she wanted to give something back to the Nepali people who had helped her on her many expeditions. Their mission is to provide people of developing countries with education and grassroots programs, while providing an opportunity for students in the United States to learn about global issues and experience the joy of helping others. To achieve this, NAMLO engages in five interrelated programs: School Construction, School Improvement, Sustainable Community development, Sister Schools, and Scholarships. This grant is in support of NAMLO’s Economic Development Programs for Women’s Cooperative center in Nepal.
